Yes. If a suitable mould does not already exist, Composite Plus can support the project with plugs, production moulds or direct moulds before GRP production starts. This is useful when a new product needs to move from concept, drawing or sample to a repeatable production process.
Minimum order quantity depends on the product, tooling requirements, production method and commercial feasibility. Some projects are suitable as one-off parts or prototypes, while others make more sense as small series or repeat production due to mould making, setup time and finishing requirements.
The material structure, resin system, reinforcement, core materials, finish and production method are selected according to the product’s intended use. Depending on the part and production volume, GRP products can be manufactured using methods such as hand lamination or vacuum infusion. Surface finish, strength, stiffness, weight and environmental resistance are reviewed during the quotation stage.
Lead time depends on the complexity and size of the product, whether a mould already exists, whether new tooling is required, the quality of the technical input, the selected production method, required surface finish and production volume. A simple part made from an existing mould is usually faster to produce than a new product that first requires tooling, testing or detailed finishing.
